*collapses onto her bed*
Whew, so. This was certainly one heck of a day I won't be forgetting for a while. It's really some eighteenth birthday, if I do say so myself.
Anyway. So. Uh, okay. My day started like almost every Sunday - waking up, dragging myself around to wash up and head off for art class. Since I wonderfully woke up at 11AM last week and thus missed last week's lesson, I had little choice but to do a pencil drawing instead of the usual oil painting because there wasn't enough time. It was all cool, since there was someone else in the same spot as me and we simply ended up talking stuff while we were doing our drawings. I also broke her brain a little by telling about how I was (eventually) writing Isshin/Mr. H porn - she's a TWEWY fan, which just made her reaction downright
hilarious. Also I had little trouble finishing my art piece today and the teacher didn't give me as hard a time as he usually would - I suppose it might be because he overheard me telling my friends that it was my birthday today, but IDK. He's a bit strange like that.
So that aside, once I finished my art I headed back home. Mom wasn't back from church yet, so I used the laptop and tagged shit and stuff until she did come back with Pizza Hut takeaway. We couldn't eat yet though, since we still needed for her friend to come up after she managed to find a parking lot in our unusually busy carpark (mainly because a funeral was in procession downstairs). It took a bit, but once she came up it was of course PIZZA TIEM. We talked about what our plans were for the day as we went through pizza and drumlets, and we all decided that going bowling was a totally cool idea and my mom's friend despaired because she hadn't played bowling for about a decade. My brother consoled her by saying that she could contest with me as the most horrible bowler to have every lived.
Yes, so we did go bowling once we finished lunch and had a cake which my mom decorated by herself (I did the same for her back in her birthday last year). We took a while before we could actually
bowl - the bowling alleys we went to were all packed, and we had to wait for a good hour or so before we actually finally could bowl. It was about 5.45PM by the time we were at the counter and choosing how many games we wanted to play - we couldn't stay too long, since we had a dinner reservation at 7PM (later changed to 7.30PM) and there was going to be a tournament held at the alley we were at too. So eventually we settled for two games, of which we played to great entertainment. Highlights include:
- My mom actually beating my brother in both games.
- Brother having to leave the last half of the first game because he had a terrible stomachache
- Mom's friend dropping the ball before she could bowl it down
- Me guttering the ball five times in a row
- Mom scoring strikes for my brother instead of herself when she bowled in his place while he was at the toilet
We finished around 7.10PM, which was well and good since the restaurant our dinner was at was nearby (and Mom's friend was driving the car and thus chauffeur of the day). We went to our dinner - it was a Japanese fine dining place called Sun With Moon and the food there was delicious. I had a tonkatsu while my brother had this terriyaki salmon and black pepper chicken platter. Mom had, uh... some simple dish I can't recall now and mom's friend got a beef hotpot. Food was awesome, and because my mom abuses coupons like Babhal's ambassador we had a fifty percent discount. Anyway, once food was done we headed over to the main highlight of the night: the
Singapore Flyer. For those who do not know what it is, it's simply a giant Ferris Wheel that's more or less a glorified version of an observation deck. I had to facepalm a little though, when my mom's friend was all 'CAN WE GET A DISCOUNT FOR BRITHDAYS' at the counter.
Despite that description though, the view was pretty neat - we got to see the F1 race track and the view of the country's night skyline and stuff of the city, which was awesome. My brother had to sit down halfway because he still has his phobia of heights, and both of us ended up arguing over which side was creepier to look down. That aside, the thirty minutes in there was cool. Neb, whenever you come here I'm going to bring you here okay. You get no say in this. Just prepare to spend like twenty five bucks.
Once we got off the wheel my brother then suggested we head down to this ice cream place to eat, and we agreed that it was a nice idea. So off we went to this place called
Once Upon A Milkshake. Its a really sweet and cozy place, and I love how their flavours were described as cartoon characters. The ice cream was homemade too, and tasted really nice. A fair number of people were still there despite it being like ten plus in the night already, which was surprising considering how sort of isolated the spot was and how people wouldn't really find it so easily.
And so once we were done with ice-cream, we headed back home. \o\ It was a really nice and awesome day really, and this will all be wrapped up by tomorrow afternoon as I go to Kinokuniya and do my first buying of legal porn. *shot*
